PRINTING & APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
How to print PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Paper in your color laser copier.
When printing PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Paper with no back print you will note that the upper right hand corner has been notched. When the notch is in the upper right hand position, the print side is up.
Mirror your image in the copier’s function selection screen so that any text in your image will appear properly on your substrate.
Feed the PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Paper according to the copier manufacturer’s directions. If you have any questions about how to feed PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Paper in the copier brand and model that you are using, please contact your dealer or your copier manufacturer.
Important: PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Paper should be fed into your copier with the short dimension first (grain long).
HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR IMAGE USING A COMMERCIAL HEAT PRESS
The following instructions pertain to transferring PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Paper image to T-shirts, sweatshirts and mousepads. For instructions on how to transfer to other substrates, please contact your dealer. A copy can be faxed or mailed to you.
PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Papers are intended for use to transfer to white and light-colored substrates consisting of 100% cotton, cotton/poly blends, or 100% polyester (including most mousepads).

Be sure to choose garments that have a tight weave. This is particularly important when transferring to sweatshirts. Best washability is achieved when using a tight weave 50/50 T-shirt. When using 100% cotton T-shirts, be sure the label reads “Pre-Shrunk”.
For best results, it is important to transfer your image at the correct TIME, TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE.
Preheat the heat press so that the platen is hot before transferring your first image. Cut away any unprinted paper around your image that you do not want to transfer. Place the garment onto the press pad and prepress for 1-2 seconds to remove any wrinkles and excess moisture. Place the transfer on top of the garment with the image side down and press at:
Manual Heat Presses: 375 degrees F for 15 seconds, use HEAVY PRESSURE.
Air Powered Heat Presses: 375 degrees F for 15 seconds, use 60 PSI, or GREATER, or 400 degrees F for 5-10 seconds, use 60 PSI or GREATER.
FOR BEST RESULTS:
T-shirts: Wait 5 seconds before peeling transfer.
Sweatshirts: Wait 5-10 seconds before peeling transfer.
No second pressing is required, PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Papers do not require sealing with silicone or bond paper.
Important note: Heat presses vary in accuracy. Conduct your own tests to determine the best time and temperature to use with your own equipment. Best results are achieved with air-powered presses.
STORAGE & HANDLING OF PHOTO-TRANS® PLUS HEAT TRANSFER PAPERS
Store PHOTO-TRANS PLUS Heat Transfer Papers in a cool, dry area and do not remove from carton until you are ready to use. After opening the package, store the paper in the poly bag.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Turn garment inside out. This will minimize the amount of abrasion that the transfer will encounter with other garments in the wash.
Wash the garment in cold water using a mild detergent.
DO NOT USE BLEACH
Remove the garment from the wash immediately and allow to air dry. If you are going to tumble dry, use the air only setting. By doing this over the life of the garment, you will be ensuring that your image stays clear and bright.
Do not iron directly on the transferred area.
Note: After washing, colors may fade slightly, particularly on 100% cotton. To restore the colors to their original brightness, place a sheet of regular white paper over the image and iron at low cotton setting.
PHOTO-TRANS® PLUS HEAT TRANSFER PAPERS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR USE IN THE FOLLOWING COLOR LASER COPIERS:
Canon CLC 320, 500, 550†, 700, 800, 900, 950, 1000
Kodak Color-Edge 1525, 1550, 1550+†, 1560, 1565
CF900, Mita Pointsource C1-7500, Pitney Bowes CD6000, Toshiba FC-70
Docucolor 40, 5750, 5760, 5760 ADF, 5765 Majestik, Regal 5790, 5799
† PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION when using the CANON CLC 550 and the KODAK Color-Edge 1550+ for heat transfer production. In these machines, it may be necessary to have the fuser unit changed to a CANON CLC 500 or KODAK 1500 fuser section in order to obtain consistent runability results.
Important: We do everything possible to test each of our grades of paper on various substrates using different transfer equipment (including many different home irons). However, it is impossible for us to duplicate all variables using all substrates and transfer equipment. Therefore, it is essential that you test the paper you plan to use before beginning production to determine the suitability of the paper when using with your equipment, methods, and substrate material. Please keep in mind that the Seller’s and Manufacturer’s maximum obligation shall be to replace any paper that has been proven to be defective. Neither the Seller nor the Manufacturer shall be liable for any injury, direct or consequential, arising out of the use of, or inability to use this paper.
